Provincial Update: Minister Lisa MacLeod visits Art Gallery of Burlington

Over the past several weeks, the Honourable Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism, and Culture Industries, has been travelling across Ontario. As the province reopens under Phase 2, she has been visiting many of the tourist attractions in various regions. This has allowed her to engage with many stakeholders impacted by COVID-19 and the altered tourism season, as well promote Ontario’s attractions in her ministry’s “hyper-local tourism” strategy including the safety of visiting these spaces. She has also been making some funding announcements on her tour mainly to tourism and some festivals and events.

As part of her tour, on Friday, July 03, MacLeod visited the Oakville and Burlington regions and stopped at OAAG member gallery, the Art Gallery of Burlington. She was able to briefly meet AGB President and CEO, Robert Steven, who also serves as OAAG Treasurer. As part of the visit, she was able to view the galleries and the AGB Shop. Robert Steven was able to share with Minister MacLeod some of the advocacy work currently being done by OAAG in response to COVID-19.
