OAAG / AOGA JOB OPENING: Zoom Tech Host for Digital Data Mixer

The Ontario Association of Art Galleries is hosting a 2-day online Zoom webinaire on July 7 & 8, 2020. The event, Digital Data Mixer, will bring together key professionals from the public art gallery sector to build digital literacy in working with the many types of data that flow through their institutions.

Technical hosts will report to the Event Manager and will be responsible for managing our round-table discussions (max. 10 participants + facilitator). There are two 1-hour sessions each day which will be assigned to you. Technical hosts will be provided with an event guide and attend both a training/team meeting session to discuss event flow and a technical dress rehearsal prior to the event.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Address and resolve technical issues as they occur (i.e. screen sharing, sound and video, issues relating to connection, etc);
  • Provide technical support to presenters and facilitators as well as participants;
  • Record all sessions;
  • Manage flow of event, ensuring that guests, speakers, and program facilitators are supported throughout the online event, following the provided event guide to do so;
  • Manage and execute white-board interactive screen for participants and facilitators of program;
  • Assist facilitator in moderating participant discussion to ensure all attendees have a voice, including monitoring chat and privately messaging facilitator when appropriate;

Required Skills

  • Strong and dependable internet connection and computer;
  • Solid knowledge and expert background with Zoom web conferencing tools and workflows;
  • Knowledgeable of web conference hosting best-practices;
  • Technical expertise to solve basic web conferencing issues like webcam/mic problems, browser permissions (for webcam/mic), OS permissions, internet connectivity, etc;
  • Able to remain calm and composed under pressure;

Event Dates & Availability

Technical hosts must be available for the following:

  • Pre-event team meeting
  • Technical Dress Rehearsal
  • Event Dates: July 7 & 8, 9am – 2:00pm
  • Follow-up post-event with Event Manager

Compensation

  • $600 CDN flat rate (est. $40/hr)
