Position includes Saturdays and occasional evenings.

Wage: 

$16.00 per hour

Latcham Art Centre seeks an outgoing, creative, responsible, and flexible individual to act as Education Programs Assistant for 8 weeks of summer art programming. The candidate will assist with planning, registration, materials, marketing and coordinating as well as assisting with any mandated Covid-19 safety measures and implementation. The student will be responsible for the set-up of activities, leading programs, communicating with participants, cleaning and promoting a safe and inclusive environment. Other responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting with program schedule, overseeing Camp Counsellor candidate, and writing a report at the end of summer. Occasional responsibilities include acting as Gallery Attendant, arts administration duties, database entry and assisting at gallery events.

All mandated Covid-10 safety protocols will be in place including social distancing, mask wearing, plexiglass barriers where needed, etc. to insure all of our staff have a safe workplace.

We are seeking an individual with excellent leadership, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills, a positive attitude and eagerness to participate in program and Gallery activities. 

Eligible applicants must be 15 to 30 years of age; Canadian citizens or permanent residents or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and are legally entitled to work in Canada. A successful vulnerable sector screening and basic First Aid & CPR will be required.
